eBeam software is set to auto detect the com port used for the wireless connection by default. Some of the Vista/XP installs work better when specifying the specific outgoing com port opposed to leaving it on auto detect. However we do not suggest doing this unless auto detect is unreliable (does not connect reliably and drops connections during use). It is a simple config adjustment:
First determine the outgoing com port - go to Bluetooth Devices and select the eBeam instance, under com ports on properties you will see the configured outgoing com port. This is unique to each ebeam - laptop pair.
Plug the eBeam via USB cable directly into the laptop
Start eBeam Interact - right-click on the eBeam logo in the taskbar and select options
Click system preferences - select the outgoing com port from the drop-down and select OK
Close the software - be sure to completely exit by right-clicking on the taskbar icon and selecting exit
Put the eBeam back in bluetooth mode - usb cable into power adapter and blue circular light on top of eBeam pod
Run eBeam Interact - this should solve your connection reliability problems.
